In the library this month, we have been busy. Our kinder students have been busy exploring and learning with the Osmo while our third and fourth graders tried a Mystery Google Hangout. Of course, we still have lots of reading going on with our eBooks. We just added new eBooks too!
Every Wednesday, Ms. Conway has been letting our students read a poem on the morning announcements for National Poetry Month (April). Jenna is pictured here reading Spaghetti by Shel Silverstein.
We put out our new touch screen search computers this week, and the students were so excited to use them. They loved the touch screen feature.
On March 2nd, BES celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday- Read Across America Day throughout the school. During specials time, the entire grade level went to the gym. The students watched a video by Thing 1 & Thing 2 on the importance of reading. Then the students split up into six groups to play swat the sight word with a fly swatter. Students also listened to community and school leaders come read to their classroom all throughout the day. Check out some pictures from the day.
Thank you to our fabulous PTO for helping out at the book fair and donating books to our teacher's classrooms. A big thank you to our parents and staff for buying books at our fair, too. We were able to get 46 hardcover books for our library shelves.

Each grade level got to listen to a "celebrity" reader. We loved listening to the stories! Thanks so much for all of our readers taking time to come read to us.
